On May 31, 2010, Pledis Entertainment announced that After School would be splitting up into two subgroups with three members each and one solo artist for promotion. Uee will not participate due to her drama promotions. First Group is launched as "Orange Caramel" consisting three youngest ones of the members, Raina, Nana, and Lizzy. Leader Kahi has also released her solo album in February 2011, leaving members Jungah, Jooyeon,and Bekah left for After School's subgroup project. Pledis Entertainment has not announced any details about the latter members to debut as a sub-unit as of yet. Due to UEE finishing most drama promotions, and new member E-Young now joining the group, it is unknown if the two will participate in the promotional project in the future.
