Kara (카라, often stylized as KARA or KaRa) is a K-pop girl group from South Korea signed with DSP Media (DSP). The band name Kara comes from the Greek Word "chara" (χαρά, lit. "joy"), which the group interpreted to mean "sweet melody" .
Kara started as a four-member group and debuted with their first album The First Blooming in 2007. In 2008, Kim Sunghee departed the group due to parental pressure, and two members were brought in; as such, the group consists of five members: Park Gyuri, Han Seung-yeon, Goo Hara, Nicole Jung and Kang Jiyoung. The five-member band achieved their first number one song with "Honey"

Super Junior (Korean: 슈퍼주니어), often referred to as SJ or SuJu (슈주), is a popular boy band from South Korea formed by S.M. Entertainment in 2005. The group debuted with 12 members: Leeteuk (Leader), Heechul, Han Geng, Yesung, Kangin, Shindong, Sungmin, Eunhyuk, Donghae, Siwon, Ryeowook, Kibum and later added at 13th member named Kyuhyun; they are one of the largest boy bands in the world. As of 2010, 10 members are active, due to Han Geng's lawsuit with SM Entertainment, Kangin's leave of absence for mandatory military service and Kibum's pursuit of an acting career.However, the other members have insisted that the three are still part of the group.SM Entertainment have yet to release statements regarding their official status with the group.

The members are Yoon Doo Joon, Jang Hyun Seung, Yong Jun Hyung, Yang Yo Seob, Lee Gi Kwang and Son Dong Woon. The group was originally known as B2ST, an acronym for Boys 2 Search the Top.However, their name was changed to BEAST (Boys of East Standing Tall).They released their first mini-album Beast Is The B2ST on October 14, 2009.

After School is a South Korean girl group under the label of Pledis Entertainment. The group had their public debut alongside label mate Son Dam Bi in 2008 and on 17 January 2009 released the single, "AH!". Later that year, Uee joined the group, and After School released their second single, "Diva".
In fall 2009, Soyoung graduated from the group, which led to the addition of two members, Raina and Nana. The group then released "Because of You", which reached #1. In March 2010, After School released their 4th single, "Bang!" with the addition of 8th member, Lizzy. A new member called "E-Young" (Real name: Noh Li Young) was added to the line-up and performed on December 31, 2010.
The current band consists of Park Kahi, Kim Jung Ah, Lee Jooyeon, Bekah, Uee, Raina, Nana, Lizzy and E-Young.

Girls' Generation (Korean: 소녀시대, Hanja: 少女時代, Sonyeo Sidae ) is a popular nine-member South Korean girl group formed by SM Entertainment in 2007. The nine members are: Taeyeon, Jessica, Tiffany, Sunny, Yuri, Hyoyeon, Sooyoung, Yoona and Seohyun. They are often referred to as SoShi (소시), or SNSD, the first of which is an abbreviation and the second, mainly used outside Korea, is an acronym of the group's Korean name So Nyuh Shi Dae. In China and Taiwan, they are known as 少女時代 (Shàonǚ Shídài; or Síunéuih Sìhdoih in Hong Kong) and in Japan as 少女時代 (Shōjo Jidai).
The group has released two full albums, three mini-albums, and various singles. Their 2009 hit single Gee holds the record for being the longest running #1 song on KBS's Music Bank, having held the #1 chart ranking for 9 consecutive weeks. Gee was also song of the decade by Melon(A popular Music Site in Korea) 2009 and 2010 also saw the group winning various awards, including consecutive Artist of the Year (Daesang) awards at the Seoul Music Awards, Golden Disk Awards, Melon Music Awards, and the Korean Cultural Entertainment Awards.
The group began a foray into the Japanese music scene in late 2010 under Nayutawave Records, a part of Universal Music, with the Japanese remakes of their 2009 Korean hits Tell Me Your Wish (Genie) and Gee. 2010 saw the group reach considerable success in Japan, in Korea after winning the prestigious Disk Daesang (Album of the Year) and Artist of the Year at the Golden Disk Awards and Melon Music Awards respectively. The group was certified gold by the RIAJ four times in Japan.
